The Client:

Established in 1998, Laurel Mountain Basket Company is one of the premiere gift basket services in New England. Laurel Mountain is committed to providing distinctively designed gift baskets and unparalleled customer service. The custom gift baskets feature ingredients that are carefully selected for any occasion, holiday or corporate event and are carefully packaged to ensure a safe delivery. To ensure quality, gourmet gift baskets are often made with products from the Pioneer Valley Region of Massachusetts and through out New England.

The Challenge:

In 2007, Tortus partnered with Laurel Mountain Gift Baskets to create a new ecommerce website that would highlight the diversity and quality of Laurel Mountain’s gourmet gift baskets. The client wanted to unite Yankee Gift Baskets, an older company and website that was owned by Laurel Mountain, into a newer intuitively designed website that would highlight the variety of custom-made gourmet gift baskets available. The new site would promote the Laurel Mountain brand and would allow the client to easily manage the content of the website without the intervention of a web designer or programmer.

The Result:

Tortus created a new website styled after the Laurel Mountain logo that is easy to navigate and contains the full product offerings formerly available at Yankee Gift Baskets. In addition to the website redesign, Tortus built a full site web based content management system that allows Laurel Mountain to manage and maintain every item in the product catalog. The new site communicates the diversity of Laurel Mountain products, promotes the brand message and is modeled using web best practices.
