Tortus Email Migration

- clarke - Alerts - google apps, rackspace, email, Hosting

Dear Friends and Clients,

In order to better serve our clients, and continue to provide high quality email hosting, we are announcing the end of our current email service, effective January 1, 2016. We will be upgrading all current email hosting clients to our new provider, Rackspace. For most clients, migration will be as simple as changing incoming and outgoing mail settings. (Click here for instructions.)

Since the beginning of 2014, we have been evaluating Rackspace email hosting to see if would meet our needs moving forward, and enable Tortus to provide the level of quality we have all come to expect in modern email. We have found it to exceed the speed, reliability, support, and overall quality of service we are currently able to offer in all respects, and it is what we are offering to replace our email service for all existing and new clients.

For those of you looking for a more powerful business suite we will also be offering Google Apps for Work as an authorized Google Partner.

We may contact clients individually to help smooth the transition. If you wish to expedite the process, or have any questions, please simply go to our Support Portal and submit a request for more information and we will respond as soon as possible.

As many of you will have noticed by now, our email service has experienced several outages in the past few months, ranging from a few minutes to many hours in duration. We understand exactly how frustrating this can be, as we rely heavily on email ourselves. While we have always fixed our email service and restored it to full functionality, it is becoming apparent that we need to make a change to provide the level and quality of email hosting that we have all come to expect. Rackspace is that change, and we hope that the long-term result of this transition will be better email for everyone.

Sincerely,

Clarke Moore
